For selected patients with chronic heart failure.
Heart failure means that the heart is unable to pump blood as effectively as the body needs. Madhavbaug's program combines selected Ayurvedic therapies with functional rehabilitation, nutrition and physician-supervised medical management.
The physician-designed protocol may include Snehana, Swedana, Hrudayadhara, Basti and other supportive Ayurvedic procedures. Intensity and suitability are determined according to cardiac condition.
Personalized nutrition focusing on appropriate calories, protein adequacy, weight management, salt/fluid considerations where medically indicated, blood sugar and lipid control, and individual dietary tolerance.
Progressive activity according to functional capacity: breathing exercises, mobility, walking-based activity, gradual endurance training and functional rehabilitation. Significant heart failure requires physician guidance.
Ayurvedic medicines may be selected individually. Existing heart-failure medicines remain important when prescribed by a cardiologist; medication adjustment should be medically supervised.

PMID 28648417. A randomized open-label study evaluated Heart Failure Reversal Therapy as an add-on to standard chronic heart-failure treatment.

Patient-friendly explanation: Heart-failure management is not only about the ejection fraction number. Our integrated approach aims to support heart function, exercise capacity, symptoms, lifestyle, metabolic health and quality of life.
